Some extracts from a diary.......

"The wise man to whom pain and pleasure are alike and who is not tormented by the worldly contacts, becomes eligible for immortality"

These unchallengeable quotes have been recompiled on every page of my diary from "The Gita"- the ultimate and supreme. But me being a mere mortal- a 21 year old,  couldn't help wondering for a little more than 45 minutes.....that... how can i feel pain and pleasure in the same way? At least the mind set which i am in has to drift towards insanity to experience this! And - pain and pleasure being the same, seems like a condition required for immortality. Now this whole idea is about immortality, ain't it? Being alive and sound for years huh? If i am not wrong..... c'mon who wants to be immortal these days? We save for one life, we wish just one life, we love for one life, we dream of one life... live, love, laugh. And one day when time comes, time when we are done with all our responsibilities... it ends.
And on a different note, if this "mehengai" continues and if i become immortal then one day i would be the poorest human being alive...robbed off every penny!!! One should be thankful i am not immortal, else this blog may become a smelly manuscript filled with the terror of an unending life!!! This whole story of stoicism isn't my game at all.........But i wish every one in this world good luck for their lives so that they can make it worth a life time even better than immortality!!!
GUD LUCK!!!

  1. dear...u rightly quoted that u r a confused youngster.. u failed to understand the real meaning of stoic and hence wrongly correlated stoic with immortality. "Stoic" means seeming unaffected with pain and pleasure. Now first understand the word "affect". "affect" and "effect" are two different words in which former one is having negative meaning. "affect" means effect adversely. Now again go to the meaning of "stoic". Seeming unaffected by pleasure nd pain... means person who seems (not actually)to b not adversely effected by the pleasure and pain. Definitely there will b different type of feelings in pain and pleasure but one should not let others know that he is adversely effected (affected) by those conditions, that is a stoic person and in practicality a lot of stoic persons exist on this earth. Now lastly go to the unchallengeable quote mentioned by u..it means stoic person is eligible for immortality...only eligible..not necessarily he is going to b immortal.
